A man who says he went to the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) with presidential aspirant Peter Obi and worked with the incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has given his opinion on both men.

Speaking in an interview with digital creator Emir Sirdam, the man who joined the live chat said he was room mates with former CBN governor Godwin Emefiele and also school mates with NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi.

The podcast guest explained that he is angry with his generation because, according to him, they met a favourable Nigeria and ended up messing it up for the coming generation.

He said: “The reason I’m ashamed of my generation is that my generation enjoyed Nigeria so well and instead of leaving Nigeria better, we are leaving Nigeria worse than we met it,” he said.

He stated that theirs was a generation where people were paid to go to school, got scholarships, and had job opportunities waiting for them after school.

However, he said that after enjoying these opportunities, they did not return the favour for the ones coming after them, rather they left the country a mess.

He narrated how upon graduation, he joined Zenith Bank in 1992 after Emefiele told him that bankers are earning well.

He said: “At that time, Tinubu was the Chief Accountant of Mobil, Emefiele was his account officer, I was working under Emefiele. So, I knew Tinubu one to one.

“What I’m going to tell you is that, I not only knew Tinubu very well, I also knew Peter Obi very well.”

Giving his verdict on who he believes would lead Nigeria better, he said: “I’ve seen both of them clearly and closely and that’s the reason I’m telling Nigerians if only you can give Peter Obi a chance. After four years, I swear, if he leaves, you’re going to call him back, saying ‘Oga, you can’t go’. Just the way Alex Otti is doing.”

“It doesn’t take eight years to make an impact,” he added.

He went on to give his opinion on the impact Tinubu has made and the efforts Peter Obi is putting in to ensure he would be the President Nigeria needs.
