NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has mourned the death of a member of the Obidient Movement from Edo State, Comrade Benedict Inaede.
Obi, in a post on X on Friday, described Inaede’s death as a painful and irreplaceable loss to the Obidient family.
“I have just received the sad news of the death of one of our Obidient family members from Edo State, Comrade Benedict Inaede,” Obi wrote.
He extended condolences to Inaede’s family on behalf of himself and the entire Obidient Movement.
Obi prayed for the repose of Inaede’s soul and for strength for his family and the movement to bear the loss.
“May Almighty God, who has called him home, grant him eternal rest and grant his family and all of us the fortitude to bear this profound loss.
Inaede had served as the Edo State Secretary of the Obidient Movement, where he was involved in the movement’s state-level activities, including public statements on behalf of its executive.
Details of the circumstances surrounding his death were not disclosed in Obi’s statement.
The Obidient Movement is a grassroots support base that rallied around Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign and has remained active in his political activities since then.
