President Bola Tinubu said he has given Nigeria’s security agencies a firm directive to end the persistent wave of insecurity across the country “decisively and without delay.”

The President, who is away in France, made this known in his Easter message on Friday amid the surge in deadly attacks by terrorists and armed herdsmen in many parts of the country.

Tinubu acknowledged the recent spike in violence and the toll it has taken on communities and families across the country.

“The recent tragic incidents and the loss of lives in some parts of our country deeply saddened me,” the President said.

“I understand the pain and fear these incidents have caused.”

Tinubu, who said his administration is committed to securing the nation, stated, “Let me assure you that my administration’s resolve to restore peace and security remains unshakable. Forces of evil will never prevail over our country.”

The President disclosed that he has “given clear directives to the Armed Forces and all relevant security agencies to end insecurity decisively and without delay.”

He claimed that Nigeria is already making steady progress in reclaiming peace and stability.

“With the unwavering courage and commitment of our gallant men and women in uniform, we are turning the tide and making steady progress in reclaiming peace and stability,” he said.

Addressing the broader state of the nation, Tinubu tied his message to the theme of “Renewed Hope,” the cornerstone of his administration’s agenda.

He also acknowledged the ongoing economic hardships facing many Nigerians and promised continued efforts to stabilise the economy and foster inclusive growth.

“We are also grateful to all Nigerians for your patience and resilience as our economy begins to show encouraging signs of recovery,” Tinubu said.

“We understand the economic challenges many of you are facing, and we are working tirelessly to restore investor confidence, stabilise key sectors, and build an inclusive economy that serves the interests of all Nigerians.”

Despite the challenges, the President called for unity and perseverance among citizens.

“I urge all Nigerians to remain hopeful, united, and resolute in pursuing national progress. The task before us is enormous, but together, with faith and determination, there is no obstacle we cannot overcome. Our unity and resilience are our greatest strengths,” he said.

The President’s remarks follow renewed concerns about the country’s security situation. Recent attacks have been reported in several regions of the country, especially in Plateau, Borno, Benue, Enugu, and other states of the federation.
