According to a report by Punch, the police confirmed that the social media personality is currently in custody while investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A source alleged that Cele raised an alarm about a fire at her residence, after which Makaye was rushed to a hospital for treatment. He later died.

Police spokesperson CSP Abdullahi Haruna confirmed the detention but declined to provide further details, citing ongoing investigations.

Makaye, a cosmetics trader based in Kano, has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
