The Nigeria Customs Service has directed all shortlisted applicants to validate their email addresses on their profiles as part of the requirements for its ongoing recruitment exercise.

The directive was issued via an announcement made on the official X (formerly Twitter) page of the Nigeria Customs Service on Saturday.

The service had shortlisted 286,697 candidates for the CBT phase of its recruitment.

According to the statement, all applicants who have successfully advanced to the next phase of the ongoing recruitment exercise are to take note of some important instructions to follow.

It read, “Henceforth, the Service will only communicate with shortlisted applicants strictly through their registered email addresses.

“No communication will be conducted through unofficial platforms or social media pages.”

“Some applicants have reported challenges in receiving official mail. To resolve this, all shortlisted candidates are required to log on to the Recruitment Portal via this link: [http://updates.customs.gov.ng]”

“Kindly visit the Portal and log in with the NIN used while registering to access your profile, confirm the correctness of your registered email address, and update it where necessary.”

The service also highlighted the steps to be taken during the recruitment exercise.

• The Computer-Based Test (CBT) will commence on a date to be communicated via email.

• Only applicants with verified email addresses will receive official CBT instructions, pre-test access links, and login credentials.

• Candidates who fail to update or verify their emails may be unable to access critical information required for participation.

“The NCS does not demand or accept payment for recruitment.

“Applicants are strongly advised to disregard fraudulent messages circulating on social media,” the release concluded.
