A 21-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to d2ath by his father in Umarari, Maiduguri, Borno State.
The incident occurred on February 25, 2026 at about 9:00 p.m. when Chairman Mai Maya, whose age is yet to be confirmed, reportedly had an altercation with his son, Alhaji Mohammed Lawan.
During the confrontation, the father allegedly st@bbed his son twice on the back.
Police from Ite Division, led by a patrol team, arrived at the scene to find the victim lying in a pool of blood, security analyst Zagazola Makama reported.
Photographs were taken before the victim was evacuated to the State Specialist Hospital, Maiduguri, for medical attention.
The victim was pronounced d3ad on February 26 at approximately 5:15 a.m. by attending medical personnel.
His body was photographed and released to his family for burial according to Islamic rites.
Police confirmed that the suspect is still at large, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend him.
The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Maiduguri, is investigating the incident.
