Today is world Tuberculosis Day, and Epiconsult Diagnostics Center Limited together with TB partners like USAID, Fhi360, NTBLCP, KCNB and IOM; were at wuse Market to mark this day in an event that was organized in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Health to raise awareness on the danger of Tuberculosis disease and the measures of protection against the disease.
Tuberculosis is a disease caused by bacteria called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The bacteria can attack any part of the body such as the kidney, spine, and brain and if left untreated or not properly treated, it can be fatal.
Treatment commence immediately medical test shows positive, the Gen Expert and TB Lamp was made available by Epiconsult diagnostics and other partners for free testing and the subsequent advised from TB Specialist for the dictated cases. Epiconsult is also active in the fight against sickle cell anemia and hepatitis.
This program is also slotted to take place at Karu Primary Health centre tomorrow 22nd March 2020 with the slogan “Is Time to End TB in Nigeria….Check that Cough time no dey”.
