“Mr Akefe has criminal convictions for conspiracy to distribute cocaine,” the Department stated.
The Department further disclosed that all legal processes required for Akefe’s deportation have been completed.
“Akefe has a final order of removal from an immigration judge,” it added.
Akefe joins a growing list of Nigerians arrested by ICE since the U.S. government intensified its crackdown on illegal immigration.
Earlier, Chinnomso Ochie and Theophilis Anwana were also arrested by ICE.
