A video obtained by SaharaReporters showed armed youths engaging in the confrontation as bystanders fled for safety.

Eyewitnesses alleged that police officers were initially present but did not intervene in the violence.

However, some armed operatives of the Nigeria Police Force later stormed the scene and dispersed the warring youths with tear gas.

Several individuals reportedly sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The exact number of casualties remains unclear.

As of the time of filing this report, the Delta State Police Command has not issued any official statement regarding the incident.
