A Nigerian soldier has detailed the “Nigerian military pay structure.”
According to him, a new army recruit gets paid N104,000 which increases to N112,000 after 5 years, after 10 years in the force salary turns to N115,000 and turns to N125,000 naira if one spends 15 years in the military. He claimed that there are other benefits ranging from N20-25k depending on the military one serves in.
“After spending 20 years in the military, your salary will be N150,000.” he concluded.

Initial Salary: N104,000
After 5 Years: N112,000 (new rank)
After 10 Years (Corporal): N115,000
Difference from 5 years: N3,000
After 15 Years: N125,000
After 20 Years: N150,000
This implementation started this year. Before now, a soldier’s salary was 50,000 naira.
His revelation comes amid the uprising terrorism and banditry cases in the country and the role the military plays in combating such vices especially when they are underpaid.
