December 27th, Governor Alex Otti, OFR, attended the Burial ceremony of late Mrs Nsomma Gladys Ubani, mother of Dr. Monday Onyekachi Ubani, SAN, a former Vice President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA).
In his condolence letter addressed to Dr. Monday Onyekachi Ubani, Governor Otti said that he received the news of the demise of the late Mrs Nsomma Gladys Ubani who passed at the age of 90 with a heavy heart.
Part of the condolence reads, “Mama’s life and devotion to God invite us to reflect deeply on the value of purposeful living and the blessing of longevity. Without a shadow of doubt, her death is a big loss to the family and all who encountered her warm and charitable personality.
“Information at my disposal confirms that mama was a woman of uncommon virtue – firm in discipline, unwavering in faith, and generous in spirit. Her life was marked by cheerful service to God, her family and community. She was a devout woman of faith, discipline, and deep compassion. As a loving and caring mother to her Children, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, she remained a pillar of strength and comfort to everyone around her. Her enduring commitment to prayer, solid faith in God, and love for humanity will continue to inspire generations to come.
Speaking at the funeral service held at Awomukwu School field, Umusoko Awomukwu, Ikwuano LGA of the State, Governor Otti who advisedly said that the burial was a celebration of a long life well lived, stated that late Mrs Gladys Ubani already knew where she was headed.
Acknowledging that words may not be enough to console the family during this moment of grief, he urged them to be consoled by the fact that their mother, grandmother and great grandmother lived a long and fulfilled life and has gone to rest from the cares of this world.
