Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Transformation Camp have defected to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), declaring their support for the House of Representatives ambition of Hon. Francis Barthlomew Chima, popularly known as OmoBarca, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The defectors were formally received by OmoBarca, who described their decision as a significant boost to the NDC’s growing support base in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency.

Speaking during the reception, OmoBarca said the defection reflected the increasing confidence of residents in his leadership and vision for the constituency.

According to him, the new members expressed their belief that the time had come to reshape the political landscape of Ajeromi-Ifelodun through purposeful leadership and quality representation.

He said the defectors were convinced that his candidacy offers the best opportunity to advance development, improve governance, and provide effective representation for the people of the constituency.

Welcoming the former PDP members into the NDC, OmoBarca assured them of equal opportunities within the party, stressing that they would be fully integrated into its structure without discrimination.

He noted that the NDC is committed to promoting fairness, accountability, and inclusive participation, adding that every member would have the opportunity to contribute to the party’s growth and electoral success.

“The decision of these members to join the NDC is a testament to the growing acceptance of our movement. We are building a political platform founded on credibility, accountability, and the collective aspiration of the people,” he said.

He further urged party members and supporters to remain united and focused on the shared objective of securing victory in the 2027 elections.

OmoBarca also expressed appreciation to the people of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency for their continued support and confidence in his leadership, assuring them of his commitment to delivering effective representation and sustainable development if elected.

The reception of the former PDP members is expected to strengthen the NDC’s grassroots mobilisation efforts as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
