Honourable Francis Barthlomew Chima, popularly known as OmoBarca, has extended a warm and historic welcome to Mr Peter Obi on his formal emergence as a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the development as a defining moment for the party and for Nigeria’s democratic future.

In a congratulatory message issued on Wednesday, 31 December 2025, OmoBarca expressed profound excitement and optimism over Peter Obi’s entry into the ADC in Enugu, noting that his decision to align with the party reinforces its growing stature as a credible platform for transformational leadership, integrity, and people centred governance.

OmoBarca, who joined the ADC in September 2025 to contest the 2027 House of Representatives election for Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituency of Lagos State, stated that welcoming Peter Obi into the party is both a personal honour and a collective victory for members and supporters of the ADC nationwide.

According to him, Peter Obi’s political journey, marked by prudence, accountability, and a consistent commitment to good governance, resonates strongly with the core values of the ADC and the aspirations of millions of Nigerians yearning for a new political direction.

“Today marks a turning point for our great party. The decision of Mr Peter Obi to provide leadership within the ADC is a powerful affirmation that the party stands on the right side of history. It strengthens our resolve and energises our mission to build a Nigeria that works for all, not just a privileged few,” OmoBarca said.

He noted that ADC has steadily evolved into a home for reform minded politicians and citizens who believe in transparency, fiscal discipline, and inclusive development, adding that Peter Obi’s leadership would further consolidate the party’s ideological clarity and national appeal ahead of the 2027 general elections.

OmoBarca also emphasised that the entry of Peter Obi into the ADC goes beyond personality politics, describing it as a convergence of vision, values, and purpose. He said the development sends a strong signal to Nigerians, especially young people and grassroots communities, that credible alternatives to the old political order are not only possible but already taking shape.

“As someone preparing to represent the resilient people of Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituency under the ADC banner, I am deeply encouraged. Peter Obi’s presence in the party strengthens our message at the grassroots and reassures the electorate that ADC is serious about competence, character, and capacity,” he added.

The Lagos based politician expressed confidence that with unity, discipline, and collective sacrifice, the ADC under Peter Obi’s leadership would present a formidable platform capable of reshaping Nigeria’s political landscape and restoring public trust in governance.

OmoBarca concluded by congratulating Peter Obi on his leadership role within the ADC and reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the party’s ideals, pledging to work with other stakeholders to translate the renewed momentum into electoral success and tangible benefits for Nigerians.

He described 31 December 2025 as not just a date, but the beginning of a renewed hope and a bold journey towards a more just, accountable, and prosperous Nigeria under the African Democratic Congress.
