Honourable Francis Barthlomew Chima, popularly known as OmoBarca, has extended a New Year message to the people of Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituency and Nigerians at large, calling for renewed hope, collective responsibility, and courageous action in the pursuit of a better society.

In his New Year address, OmoBarca described the beginning of the year as a moment of reflection and resolve, urging citizens to approach the future with confidence and determination. He noted that despite the many difficulties confronting the country, a better Nigeria remains achievable through unity, accountability, and active civic engagement.

According to him, Ajeromi Ifelodun and Nigeria as a whole have endured prolonged challenges ranging from economic hardship and political instability to infrastructural deficits and the persistent demand for justice and good governance. He stressed, however, that these challenges should no longer define the nation’s destiny.

OmoBarca stated that the New Year presents an opportunity for citizens to reject passivity and take ownership of the future they desire. He emphasised that progress would not be driven by rhetoric or empty assurances but by decisive action, shared responsibility, and leadership that is responsive to the people.

Addressing residents of Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituency, he described the area as a symbol of resilience and strength, noting that its people possess the collective power to demand better governance and inclusive development. He encouraged constituents to use their voices and civic rights to insist on leadership that listens and policies that genuinely improve living conditions.

“Our community has the capacity to shape its future,” he said, adding that democratic participation remains a critical tool for transformation. He urged residents to remain engaged in the political process and to hold leaders accountable at all levels of governance.

Turning to Nigerians nationwide, OmoBarca called for a rejection of cynicism, corruption, and divisive politics. He appealed for a renewed commitment to national unity, fairness, and social justice, noting that sustainable development depends on shared values and collective effort.

He also highlighted the importance of education, innovation, and inclusivity as pillars for national renewal, stressing that the Nigeria envisioned by citizens must be one that works for all, regardless of background or status.

OmoBarca further reminded citizens that meaningful change does not occur through waiting or wishful thinking, but through deliberate action and unity across social, ethnic, and political divides. He maintained that every individual has a role to play in building a nation anchored on dignity, opportunity, and peace.

As the New Year unfolds, he expressed optimism that Nigerians, particularly the younger generation, possess the energy and vision needed to reshape the country’s future. He concluded by wishing all Nigerians a peaceful and prosperous New Year, with special goodwill to the people of Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituency.

He ended the message with a call for divine guidance and national cohesion, expressing hope that the year ahead would bring the country closer to the future its citizens deserve.
