A Nigerian man has called out staff of the Federal Medical Center Abuja for their negligence and non-chalant attitude when he brought in an accident victim.

According to the man, he spotted the victim who sustained a head injury with blood flowing from his head and rushed him to the Accident and Emergency Unit.

However, when he arrived at the hospital, the female staff he met informed him that he should assist in bringing the victim out of the car into a waiting wheelchair. The man however insisted that he was not going to lend a hand as they were supposed to have a team to do all that.

The nurse informed him that a certain Elijah whose responsibility it is to carry accident victims wasn’t around. She also stated that she couldn’t be of any assistance as she doesn’t have gloves to put on before touching the victim.

This got the man more infuriated. He said he would make the video go viral so the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, will see that the hospital lacks manpower and also gloves to attend to patients.

The video has sparked a debate online with some Nigerians siding with the nurse. They argue that it isn’t the nurse’s job to carry out accident victims, while others pointed out that the video depicts the lack of emotions and empathy some medical practitioners in Nigeria have.
