The Ondo State Police Command has arrested one Sunday Udoh for allegedly impregnating his daughter and her and attempting to procure an abortion.
Udoh was said to have committed the incestuous offence in Ile Oluji town, the headquarters of the Ile-Oluji/Oke Igbo Local Government Area of the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, said the 38-year-old suspect was arrested on April 22 at a health centre in the community, where he went to abort his daughter’s pregnancy.
The PPRO further stated that that case had been transferred to the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department of the command for further investigation.
“During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect was attempting to procure an abortion for his 15-year-old daughter with whom he had been having sexual intercourse.
“The case is currently being handled by the Gender Office of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Akure.”
