Senator Patrick C. Ndubueze has applauded Governor Hope Uzodimma for delivering the most significant economic gathering in the history of Imo State. The Imo State Economic Summit, held in Owerri, marked a new chapter in the state’s development journey and has positioned Imo as a rising hub for investment and international partnerships. The Senator in his speech noted that no previous administration had succeeded in assembling such an array of world leaders, business icons, foreign stakeholders and global development partners within the state at the same time. According to him, Governor Uzodimma has demonstrated uncommon diplomatic reach and administrative depth by hosting a summit that has now placed Imo State on the global economic map.

Senator Ndubueze, noted that the summit was not an ordinary government event but a defining moment that signaled the beginning of a new awakening for the state’s economic future. The impressive attendance by presidents, prime ministers, former world leaders, continental business giants and high-level investors was, in his words, a clear endorsement of Governor Uzodimma’s leadership style and credible development agenda. The Senator expressed particular excitement at seeing Imo State serve as a meeting point for Africa’s forward-looking leaders and global economic thinkers who all came to explore how to unlock Imo’s vast economic potential. He observed that the Governor’s vision aligns perfectly with the broader aspirations of Ndi Imo who have long yearned for a government capable of attracting investment, creating opportunities, and opening new doors for growth.

Reflecting on the speeches delivered by visiting leaders, Senator Ndubueze said he was especially impressed by the collective confidence these international figures expressed in Imo State. From the reaffirmation of federal government support delivered on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to the encouraging remarks from the Presidents of Liberia and Mauritius, and the engaging reflections from former Prime Minister Boris Johnson and former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, the Senator noted that the entire summit radiated a strong belief that Imo is ready for a new level of development. He emphasized that global leaders do not speak lightly and their words of encouragement show that Imo is now seen as a serious destination for investment and partnership.

Senator Ndubueze applauded Governor Uzodimma for laying out a clear and compelling vision of Imo’s future during the summit. The Governor’s emphasis on strategic infrastructure, improved land administration, industrial expansion, technology-driven governance, and the Light Up Imo Project resonated strongly with investors and development institutions. The Senator remarked that providing transparent systems, building durable roads, and pursuing sustainable power solutions are the foundation stones of any serious economy. He added that Governor Uzodimma’s firm commitment to these priorities sends a message of seriousness to global investors who are constantly evaluating where next to direct their capital and expertise.

He equally commended the Governor for highlighting Imo’s natural and strategic advantages, including its rich gas reserves, vast land mass, agricultural potential and its rising profile as a digital innovation hub. Senator Ndubueze believes these attributes, when properly harnessed and promoted, will help reposition the state as a major contributor to Nigeria’s economic renaissance. He pointed out that Imo has long possessed the raw potential for greatness but lacked the coordinated vision required to transform that potential into real outcomes. According to him, the summit hosted by Governor Uzodimma represents the beginning of that transformation as it has successfully placed the state on the radar of global economic decision makers.

The Senator was equally encouraged by the concrete commitments made by several institutions and private sector leaders during the event. He expressed optimism that the planned petrochemical testing facility, the support for the Orashi River dredging project, and the renewed willingness of major companies like Dangote Group to partner with Imo State will unlock new waves of industrial activity, create thousands of jobs and expand the revenue base of the state. He described these developments as reassuring signals of a brighter economic future for Ndi Imo.

For Senator Ndubueze, one of the most remarkable achievements of the summit is the restoration of confidence in the state’s economic environment. He stated that confidence is the most valuable currency in development and Governor Uzodimma has successfully rekindled it. Investors are attracted to stability, clarity, and consistency, and the summit demonstrated that Imo now possesses these qualities under the current administration. The Senator further noted that the Governor has displayed exceptional courage by challenging old limitations and proving that Imo can compete favourably with any state or region in attracting global attention.

In his remarks, Senator Ndubueze called on the people of Imo State to rally around the Governor and support the new economic vision being advanced. He stressed that development is a shared responsibility and the momentum gained from the summit should be sustained through cooperation, peace, and collective commitment to progress. He urged stakeholders across political, cultural and business lines to set aside personal differences and embrace this new opportunity to rebuild Imo’s economy on a foundation of innovation, investment and partnership.

While concluding his commendation, Senator Ndubueze affirmed that Governor Hope Uzodimma has written a new chapter in the history of Imo State by hosting a summit that will be remembered for generations. He described the event as a milestone achievement that has reintroduced Imo to the world and reawakened hope among its people. According to the Senator, Imo has now stepped into a new era of possibilities and with sustained leadership and public support, the state is destined to rise to greater heights than ever before.
