Suspected herdsmen have killed two brothers, Godwin Tyonum and Ortwer Tyonum, in an attack on a farm at Tse-Lafia, near the railway line, about five kilometres from Daudu in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
Godwin Tyonum, a graduate of Agribusiness from Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi, completed his studies last year and was awaiting mobilisation for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2026.
His elder brother, Ortwer Tyonum, was a 100-level student of Entrepreneurial Education at the same institution.
Eyewitnesses said the brothers were attacked with machetes while working on the farm on Sunday, December 21, 2025, by the marauding herdsmen.
It was gathered that Godwin did not d!e on the spot and was rushed to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, where he later passed away.
The incident has heightened tension in the area, as residents called on security agencies to investigate the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice.
