The Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command, CP Umar Ahmed Chuso on Wednesday 24, December,2025 on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, alongside members of his management team, on 24th December, 2025, decorated newly promoted senior officers at the Gombe State Police Command Headquarters.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of Gombe State Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police,DSP Buhari Abdullahi disclosed that the decoration ceremony featured the promotion of three (3) Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and nine (9) Superintendents of Police (SP) to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).
The officers promoted from ACP to DCP include:
• DCP U. M. Ogechi,PhD, Commanding Officer, 59 Police Mobile Force (PMF);
• DCP Abubakar Dahiru Auna, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operations);
• DCP Abubakar Sabo Giade, Area Commander, Bajoga.
Those promoted from SP to CSP include:
• CSP Tijjani Usaini Ringim, Command Finance Officer;
• CSP Thomas Umedi, Command Legal Officer;
• CSP Salisu Abdul Ibrahim Ningi, Divisional Police Officer, Deba Division;
• CSP Nura Muhammad Suleiman, Divisional Police Officer, Dukku Division;
• CSP Lazarus Yalbi Salatiel, DCO, Shongom Division;
• CSP Ibrahim Musa Dayi, Admin Officer, 34 PMF;
• CSP Abdulrasheed El-Rufa’i;
• CSP Tobias S. Tsenshut, Divisional Crime Officer, Pantami Division.
In his remarks, CP Umar Ahmed Chuso congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotions, describing the advancement as a recognition of their dedication, professionalism, and years of meritorious service to the Nigeria Police Force.
He charged the newly promoted officers to view their elevation as a call to greater responsibility, urging them to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, leadership, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
The Commissioner of Police further emphasized that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, remains deeply committed to the improved welfare, motivation, and well-being of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.
He noted that the IGP’s welfare-driven reforms are aimed at boosting morale, enhancing operational effectiveness, and ensuring that personnel are adequately supported to deliver quality policing services to the public.
The occasion was graced by the Deputy Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Sadam Bello Sale; the Emir of Funakaye, His Royal Highness Alhaji Yakubu Muhammad Kwairanga IV; representatives of the Funakaye Local Government Chairman; members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC); families of the promotees, the press, and other stakeholders.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by DCP U. M. Ogechi,PhD on behalf of the promotees, expressing appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission for the confidence reposed in them, while reaffirming their commitment to professionalism and effective service delivery
