Former speaker house of representatives, Ghali Umar Na’abba is alive, well and healthy, a family source has confirmed.

Report on the rumoured death of the Kano born politician went viral on social media on Friday morning. Hussain Na’abba, a younger sister to ex-speaker said the news is untrue and outright fake.

Ghali was the speaker of the house of representatives during the tenure of President Olusegun Obasanjo and active member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ghali left former president Goodluck Jonathan camp and decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the heat of 2011 presidential campaign.

According to Hussaina “The former speaker and my brother is alive and is very well. It is fake news.”

“Alhaji is in London as we speak. He was held down in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown in London. He would return home Insha Allah the moment the road is clear. I spoke with him this morning the moment I saw the fake new,” Hussaina said.
