The court presided by Hon. Kabiru Musa, ordered the remand of the defendant in prison after pleading guilty to the alleged offences slammed against him.

Sylvester was arraigned following a direct criminal complaint filed against him by his daughter and her uncle through their Counsel, Abdulrahman Njidda Esq., brought pursuant to section 111 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law Adamawa State 2018.

The case registered with case No. UACG/NO1/CR/FI/113/26 was filed before Hon. Kabiru Musa of Upper Area Court No.1, Ganye by an uncle to the victim, Mohammed Audi and herself respectively.

Mohammed told the court that the defendant is married to his sister who gave birth to the victim whom the defendant had impregnated.

He informed the court that the defendant took his daughter (the victim) to a medical personnel after she had complained to him that her menstrual period had stopped.

According to the first complainant, the girl was examined by the medical personnel and told that she was pregnant for 3 months and that when her father asked her to mention the name of someone else as to who is responsible for the pregnancy, the girl said nobody ever had sexual intercourse with her.

It was gathered that the defendant suggested that the pregnancy be aborted but he was told that the pregnancy had reached 3 months and it was dangerous to attempt aborting it.

The girl who is the 2nd complainant in the case told the court that her father used to beat, force and intimidate her always before having s3x with her.

The complainants told the court that the conduct of the defendant amounts to offences including incest, criminal intimidation and assault contrary to sections 367, 382, and 242 of the Penal Code Law of Adamawa State.

When the particulars of the complaint was read and interpreted to the defendant, he pleaded guilty to offences and attributed his action to lust.
