The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised leaders of newly formed African Democratic Congress (ADC), accusing them of being responsible for Nigeria’s poverty, underdevelopment, and misery over the years.
“A coalition of political villains, many of whom are prancing around in the ADC, were the same individuals who, through our history, dictated the poverty, the underdevelopment, and misery our people have felt over the years,” he said.
Morka singled out former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, accusing him of chairing critical committees during his time in office that could have improved the lives of Nigerians but instead ended in failure.
“Atiku himself chaired critical committees that could have offered Nigerians the opportunity for a better life, but he confessed publicly that their attempt to reform the power sector ended up in a fiasco,” Morka alleged.
He also referenced former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s memoirs, claiming they documented how Atiku contributed to Nigeria’s challenges.
“His principal, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, told Nigerians in documented fashion in his book that this one man ruined this country in such dimensions that generations of Nigerians will continue to struggle,” the APC spokesman added.
“You see, these are people that have had the opportunity. Everybody says God gives power. God gave them power for decades to make Nigeria better for you and I and for our children. They didn’t. They blew it. They made a mess of our country,” he said.
He also accused Atiku of party-hopping in pursuit of his presidential ambitions. “Look at someone like Atiku Abubakar. He has been a member of virtually every major political party that has existed in his self-serving quest to be president. Why must you put your personal ambition over the interest of millions of Nigerians?”
Morka’s remarks come amid heightened political tensions as opposition parties prepare strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections.
