Anambra State government today, Thursday, July, 20, 2023, sealed Cosmila Hotels facilities pending the outcome of investigation into the murder of one Ms Chinyere Awuda who was allegedly killed within the hotel premises and her body dumped in an abandoned swimming pool in the premises.
The Commissioner for Entertainment and Tourism, Mr Don Onyenji while addressing the press stated that it is sad that the hotel has not registered with the ministry to enable the ministry monitor its activities.
He added that having operated illegally and with this incident, the hotel will not be opened until the police finish their investigation, and bring all the culprits to justice.
The MD/CEO of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), Mr Ossy Onuko called on hoteliers in the state capital to to regulate the activities happening in their facility to conform with the acceptable standards. They should also identify with the Ministry of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism in the state.
The operations manager of the hotel, Mr Stanley Akunezili, claimed that he wasn’t around at the time the incident occurred but was briefed by the club manager who was not available at the time of filing this report.
