The Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Olatunji Disu, recently hosted the CMC Gladiators Team in Abuja in an atmosphere marked by gratitude, reflection, and celebration of enduring partnership.
During the engagement, AIG Disu expressed profound appreciation to the CMC Gladiators Platform for its consistent and unwavering support throughout his policing career—a journey that began prominently during his tenure as Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos. He emphasized that credible media engagement and principled advocacy remain vital to strengthening public trust and institutional effectiveness within the Nigeria Police Force.
The AIG paid special tribute to Ambassador Cornell Udofia, describing him as a dependable ally and a strategic communicator whose influence has positively shaped police–media relations over the years. Through the CMC Gladiators Platform and Magazine, Amb. Udofia has successfully galvanized constructive media support for the police hierarchy, projecting professionalism, accountability, and dedication to public service.
It will be recalled that Ambassador Cornell Udofia has stood as one of the key pillars supporting AIG Olatunji Disu’s distinguished career, from Lagos to Abuja, through his posting as Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, back again to the FCT Command, and subsequently to Louis Edet Police Headquarters following his promotion to AIG in charge of the Police Service Commission (PSC). Today, AIG Disu has once again returned to Lagos in his current capacity as AIG, FCID Annex Lagos, completing a remarkable circle of service marked by excellence and consistency.
The Abuja meeting also served as a celebration of professional distinction within the Force. The CMC Crime Burster recognition continues to spotlight officers who exemplify integrity and dedication, and AIG Olatunji Disu has earned wide acclaim as one of the most outstanding police officers of the decade, reflecting the ideals of modern, intelligence-driven policing.
