ADC warns Nigerians against fake membership registration links

The African Democratic Congress has warned the public, party members, and supporters against fraudulent online links, websites, and social media accounts falsely claiming to be the party’s official membership registration platform.

The party said there is currently no official ADC registration link or website open.

All circulating links should be disregarded, the party urged in a Sunday statement shared via X by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi.

“At this time, ADC has not launched any public online membership registration link.

“The party is currently working on its official registration and verification platform, which will be formally announced through verified party channels in due course,” the statement read.

The party emphasised that it will never request payments or sensitive personal information through unofficial links, WhatsApp messages, direct messages, or third-party websites.

It also provided guidance to the public, stating, “Do not click on suspicious or unverified links. Do not share unconfirmed registration messages.

“Do not submit personal information, including name, phone number, PVC details, BVN, or payment details, to any unverified platform. Report any suspicious links to the ADC through official party communication channels.

“All legitimate ADC announcements, including the launch of the official membership registration platform, will only be communicated through verified ADC platforms and formal statements from the party leadership,” the statement added.

The party said it is actively addressing the issue and will take all necessary steps to protect the public and preserve the integrity of the party.

The alert comes against a backdrop of recurring scams targeting the ADC, particularly as the party navigates preparations for the 2027 elections.

In July 2025, the ADC similarly disowned a fake list of state chairmen and cautioned against unauthorised online registration platforms designed to defraud Nigerians.

Abdullahi had stated that such schemes were attempts to swindle unsuspecting individuals, advising verification through credible party sources like his own account.
