Gospel artiste Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, is dead
His death was announced on Wednesday by Pelumi Olajengbesi, a lawyer and convener of the Coalition of Public Interest Lawyers and Advocates (COPA), in a post on Instagram.
Olajengbesi expressed grief over the reported death of the young musician, lamenting the loss of young Nigerians and calling for God’s mercy.
Sharing a photograph of the singer, he wrote, “My God! What a life! No, Lord! We plead for Your mercy upon Toluwanisings.
“I am deeply troubled by the deaths of young men and women. This is not God’s plan for us. We say no to untimely death!”
The announcement came amid social media reports about the singer’s health.
Comedian Woli Agba had earlier appealed to people not to give up hope, saying prayers were still ongoing for a miracle.
He wrote on his page, “Please hold on. Please don’t conclude. We are trusting God. Please.”
The reactions followed reports circulating on social media about the singer’s condition.
Toluwanisings had gained recognition in Nigerian gospel music circles in recent years, with his songs becoming popular at concerts and other events.
