Senator Orji Kalu, Rep Ibe Okwara, others pledge support for 2024 Ohafia Day in Abuja

Ohafia Improvement Union (OIU) Abuja Branch, a socio-cultural association dedicated to fostering love, unity, and development among the Ohafia people, has announced plans to host the 2024 Ohafia Day in Abuja.

According to a statement signed by Sunny Idika, head of the media and publicity subcommittee for the event, the association has intensified consultations to ensure the smooth hosting of the 2024 “Ohafia Day” in Abuja.

Idika confirmed that the vibrant cultural celebration will take place on 7 December at Old Parade Ground in Abuja.

He noted that on Monday, 11 November, the President of OIU Abuja, Chief Kalu Idika Okwara, and the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee (CPC) for the event, Prince Iyke Imaga, led other CPC members on an important consultation visit to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial District, at his private office in Abuja. This visit followed an earlier meeting on Friday, 8 November, with Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, and Hon. Ikenna Ukwa, the Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President of Nigeria. During these visits, they formally presented letters of invitation to the event and provided an update on the plans and milestones already achieved.

Senator Orji Kalu endorsed the event, promising to attend, while Rep Osonwa expressed confidence that the association would continue to grow stronger and positively impact the Ohafia people in Abuja and beyon
