EFCC Boss bags FBI award for fighting Yahoo boys

The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, on Tuesday, received an Award of Excellence from the United State of America’s Federal Bureau of Investigations, FBI.

The award was presented to him at the EFCC Headquarters, Abuja by the FBI legal attaché in Nigeria, Ahamdi Uche, who said Mr Maga was recognised for his exceptional role in the joint field operation with the FBI codenamed, “Operation Rewired”.

Operation Rewire is a financial crime-fighting collaboration that is aimed at tackling the menace of cyber-crime popularly known as ‘yahoo yahoo” in local parlance.

The FBI’s legal attache also commended Mr Magu’s leadership as well as the Commission for the concerted efforts in the fight against corruption.
