The Labour Party presidential candidate in 2023 February election, Mr Peter Obi has diagonized the problem facing Nigeria as that of bad leadership.

Obi disclosed this during the annual Zik lecture series held in honour of former president of Nigeria, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe.

He said:

“The problem of Africa is bad leadership and not colonialism, the white man left so many years ago, and I will give you an example when you are employed at a university as a lecturer with a salary of 400k Naira, taught for 30 years without spending a single dime, it will with amount to 144 million Naira, which is not up the money used to purchase a car for a single legislator, that is one of the problems of Africa”

Joce Banda, former president of Malawi, Prof Charles Soludo, governor of Anambra State, Senator Ben Obi were some of the personalities that attended the event.
