Write your name in gold, withdraw from presidential race, support Peter Obi – Dickson Iroegbu tells Bola Tinubu

The convener of Indigenous People of Nigeria, Mazi Dickson Iroegbu has appealed to the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to emulate the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad who resigned his position citing ill health and withdraw from the presidential race.

Iroegbu urged Tinubu to step down and support the more popular presidential candidate of Labour party, Mr Peter Obi who he described as ” a man from the East who is the best” ahead of 2023 general election. He said Tinubu must reconsider his aspiration of becoming the president of Nigeria because the electorates cannot be bought.

Iroegbu also gave more reasons for his demand for Tinubu’s withdrawal to include the controversy surronding his age, wealth and academic qualifications, his failing health, Peter Obi’s command of followership of young people, the leadership failure of APC in the last eight years and turning Nigeria to the capital of poverty etc.

The IPN convener insisted that any individual who to intends to be president of Nigeria in 2023 must not only tender his academic certificates for scrutiny but must present his honour and integrity including availability for accountability.

Iroegbu concludes that Tinubu will be “writing his name in gold if he steps down and pledges his overwhelming support for Peter Obi and the OBI-dient movement of Nigeria.
