(Video & photos) Enugu governor renames road after Mike Ejeagha, takes over his upkeep

Governor Peter Mba of Enugu State have visited veteran folklore musician Mike Ejeagha today and announced that the state will take full responsibility of his upkeep, henceforth.

Mbah also renamed the popular Obinagu Road in Abakpa Nike Enugu, to Mike Ejeagha Road, after the commissioning. The road leads to Ejeagha house.

It was among the four roads that was newly constructed and restored.

According to Gentleman Mike Ejeagha, Peter Mbah is the first government to honor him. That the rest just make promises and dissapear. But Peter Mbah didn’t say anything.

One day they just heard loud machines working and now he’s here again to commission.

While many are happy for Gentlman Mike, few are rejecting the nature of his “late” success.

In July, Mike Ejeagha’s song went viral after BrainJotter used it for a dance skit.

And since then, honors and gift have poured in.

The video surpassed 10million views and BrainJotter gave every proceed from the video to Gentleman Mike.

Afripol is currently pushing for Mike to win a Nobel Prize in Literature.
