The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has led a protest to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Abuja.
PDP leaders as well as supporters have stormed the INEC headquarters wearing black clothes in protest against the just concluded presidential election that saw the All progressives Congress candidate, Bola Tinubu, declared winner of the presidential poll.
Commenting on the protest via his Twitter handle, rights activist and presidential candidate of African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore wrote:
“#Electionfraud Good to see @atiku @OfficialPDPNig fight for electoral justice, everyone must engage in civil disobedience to extinguish the monumental injustice perpetrated by @inecnigeria, except that for us revolutionaries we don’t get the privilege to have DSS and police bodyguards to protect us during protests like this, they usually unleash the police, soldiers and the DSS on us with absolute cruelty! #Revolutionnow#occupyinec”
Senator Dino Melaye had announced the protest on Sunday evening calling on Nigerians to come out for the planned peaceful protest to INEC headquarters
