President Donald Trump has reignited trade tensions with a dramatic new move, announcing a sweeping 100% tariff on all movies produced outside the United States.

Trump claimed the American “Movie Industry in America is DYING a very fast death”.
“Other Countries are offering all sorts of incentives to draw our filmmakers and studios away from the United States,” he added on Truth Social.
“This is a concerted effort by other Nations and, therefore, a National Security threat,” Trump posted. “It is, in addition to everything else, messaging and propaganda!”
According to the post, Trump has authorized the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative to begin imposing the tariff immediately on all foreign-produced films entering the U.S. market.
He said, “This is a concerted effort by other Nations and, therefore, a National Security threat.
“It is, in addition to everything else, messaging and propaganda! Therefore, I am authorizing the Department of Commerce, and the United States Trade Representative, to immediately begin the process of instituting a 100% Tariff on any and all Movies coming into our Country that are produced in Foreign Lands.”
“WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!” he declared.
Despite the global shift in film production, U.S.-made movies continue to dominate the domestic box office. However, Trump’s proposed tariff seeks to further tilt the balance by penalizing foreign-made films — even those produced by American companies.
