Six arrested over killing of two police officers in Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command has arrested no fewer than six suspects for killing two police officers at Kolere village in Fune Local Government Area of the state.

DC Operations of the Command, DCP Abdu Abubakar Ozo, disclosed this to newsmen shortly after a routine State Security Council meeting, presided over by the state Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Guban.

It will be recalled that some high-profile gang leaders overpowered two police officers, DSP Ali Pindar and DSP Jantuku Philibus, leading to their unfortunate deaths.

Briefing newsmen, DCP Ozo said five to six suspects that have connections or links to the killing of the two police officers have been arrested, adding that the suspects are in the State CID for further investigation.

He added that the state command had deployed more operatives searching for more of those involved in the killing of the officers.
