The Indigenous People of Nigeria (IPN) wishes to address the situation in Anambra state, with respect to the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, November 6.
As Anambra electorates go the the polls, IPN commends the call off of the five day sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
We commend the leadership of Nzuko Umunna for working behind the scenes to ensure that IPOB listened to the yearnings of the people of Nigeria. This is because the sit-at-home order is actually crippling the Southeast economy.
IPN commends the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for calling off the five day sit-at-home.
We equally commend the people of Anambra state, and urge them to hold on to the spirit of oneness, unity of purpose Ndi Anambra should suffix. It should not be a decree of one above all.
For the IPN, Anambra election is a major pinpointer to the Republicanism of the Igbo nation, and particularly Anambra people.
Therefore, we urge ndi-Anambra to go out enmass to vote the candidate of their choice to usher in a new government that will steer the ship of the state, and ensure that the People’s interest is the paramount agenda in the plan of the incoming government.
Finally, IPN urges the electoral umpire and security agencies to be professional in the conduct of their duties, and ensure that the voice of the people is allowed to stand, and the People’s vote count. This is the reason we commend IPOB for calling off the five day sit-at-home order.
Finally, we urge government to shift ground by dialoguing with IPOB and other separatist groups so that peace will return to the country.
