Nigerian security forces have arrested a woman identified as Aisha Abubakar for allegedly transporting ammunition to terrorist groups in Katsina State.

It was gathered that the arrest took place during a routine stop-and-search operation aimed at curbing the increasing activities of armed insurgents in the state.

A security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, on Monday, said the authorities discovered ammunition in the suspect’s luggage during a routine search.

He explained that the suspect initially denied involvement but later confessed to be transporting the ammunition to terrorist groups.

“During the course of interrogation, the suspect confesses that she was heading to Yan Tumaki in Dan Musa LGA in Katsina state.

“The incident highlights the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and the importance of vigilance in preventing the proliferation of illegal weapons,” he said.
