The governor of Lagos state, Mr Babajide Sanwo Olu has given families with corpses in mortuaries within Lagos state two weeks to pick them up for burial. He made this known during the usual COVID-19 broadcast. He however stated that the accumulation of dead bodies in mortuaries was not as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and charged the media to report his message accordingly. He also stressed the point via his official tweeter handle.

“Today, I gave an order that families who have corpses of loved ones in our mortuaries have 2 weeks to pick the bodies for funeral so as to decongest our facilities.
