(Photos) Peter Obi, Obasanjo, Adebanjo sign condolence register for late Mbazulike in Enugu

The presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi has joined former president Olusegun Obasanjo and leader of Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo to sign the condolence register at the home of former Aviation Minister, Chief Mbazulike Amaechi who died in November, 2022.

Obi disclosed this via his Twitter handle. He wrote:

“I joined President Obasanjo and Pa Ayo Adebanjo at the Ohaneze Headquarters in Enugu to sign the condolence register for late Chief Mbazulike Amaechi. The team was received by Chief Ogene Okeke.”

The First Republic minister died at 93.

In a statement, Ezeana Tagbo Amechi, his son, said the politician died in the early hours of November 1.

“With total deference to the will of the Almighty God, the Ume Amaechi, Ezeana Ihidede families and Umu Mmara kindred of Amihe Ukpor in Nnewi south local government area of Anambra State announce the peaceful transition of our illustrious son, father and grandfather, Chief Mbazulike Amaechi,” the statement read.

The politician was among those who fought for Nigeria’s independence from Britain.

Before he was appointed minister in 1962, Amechi was elected into the house of representatives in 1959.
