(Photos) Governor Otti receives report from visitation panel to Abia State University

The governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti has received the visitation panel to Abia State University (ABSU). The panel, made up of eminent professors and professionals was set up and inaugurated in February 2024 to assess the condition of ABSU and make recommendations towards excellence

Otti disclosed on his X handle that “the recommendations and insights contained in the report by the panel will help us achieve our goal of robust institutional transformation in the University through the support and cooperation of all stakeholders.”

He wrote:

“I have received, with gratitude, the comprehensive report of the Full Visitation Panel to Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU). The panel, ably chaired by Professor Steve Okorodudu and other eminent professors and professionals, embarked on a critical mission to assess our state university and chart a course toward excellence. Since we inaugurated the panel on February 13, 2024, their dedication has been unwavering. We outlined 12 crucial areas for their focus, and they delved into the work with passion and expertise. Their commitment to excellence is evident, and I commend them wholeheartedly. We expect that the recommendations and insights contained in the report by the panel will help us achieve our goal of robust institutional transformation in the University through the support and cooperation of all stakeholders.”

Members of the panel include: Prof Steve Okorordudu, Prof Ngozi Osarenren, Rose Nwabueze, Abiola Awosika-Fapetu, Sonny Ajala, Nnenna Oyidie Okeh, Emmanuel Okpechi, Confidence Ogbonna and Dodoh Okafor who serves as the secretary of the Visitation Panel.

Gover Otti had earlier hinted that the members were deliberately selected because of their experience and competence and urged the relevant stakeholders to cooperate with the panel. He assured that the recommendations of the panel would be faithfully considered and implemented.
