The ObiDatti Campaign Organization landed in Benue State capital Makurdi to canvass for votes. Addressing the mamoth crowd of supporters at the IBB Ground in Makurdi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi who arrived in the company of his wife, Margareth, vice presidential candidate, Dr Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, party Chairman, Julius Abure and other party chieftains emphasized on the need for the youths to be productive.
He said:
“In their productive age, our youths must be productive. You will not come to Abuja to tell us what you want, we will come to you. You are the government. The greatest physical asset of Nigeria after the human asset is the vast uncultivated land in the north. And we will make it work. We have opportunity to turn Lagos into a financial center. We have opportunity to turn south-south to become the best in oil and gas. We have opportunity to turn south east to become the best in manufacturing and trade. Why is it not working? It is because we have people who don’t know anything. Everything I say today, take it. Hold us responsible. Nigeria cannot continue like this.”
