The former Secretary to the Federation, Mr Babachir Lawal has reacted against the marginalization of Christians in northern Nigeria.
While making a case for the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi whom he said has the potential to win the 2023 election, Lawal expressed regret that the ruling party, All Progressives Congress insisted on fielding a same faith ticket.
He made these submissions during a live television interview on Channels Television, Politics Today.
He said;
“If you are going to do Muslim-Muslim ticket, the consequences is that every Christian in Nigeria will feel slighted and their religion insulted for the fact that you think no Christian is capable. You will not get any vote from Christians. You have broken the convention. My thinking is that Bola Tinubu will not get any vote in north because you antagonized Christians.”
