The former AFN Technical Director and World Athletics Licensed , Retired Navy Commodore Omatseye Nesiama has been appointed as Co-Chairman alongside the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr Gabriel Aduda to head the Ministerial Committee to implement the recommendations of the Task Force earlier set up 9 June 2020. The Committee which has its membership drawn from the Ministry, Private Sector, Stakeholders and the Security services was inaugurated today by the Hon Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Sunday Dare. The Minister, in his remarks charged the Committee to hit the ground running as they will get all the support required to get the job done in 8 weeks. He also stated that the job should commence immediately as he would be expecting progress report of the Committee’s work as from 3 weeks of its assignment.
To respond on behalf of the Committee, the Permanent Secretary yielded to his Co-Chair, Commodore Nesiama to speak. The retired Navy Officer who is not a stranger to this kind of task, thanked the Hon Minister for the confidence reposed in the members and assured that they would work assiduously to deliver on the terms of reference handed down by the grace of God.
