NAPPS Imo State chapter holds first official meeting

Dr Steve Nwala, a foundation school proprietor in Owerri Imo State has congratulated the newly elected executives of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) Imo State Chapter as they hold their first official outing on Thursday 18th January, 2024.

The newly elected Chairperson Dame Ambassador Nkeiruka Happiness Uhegbu PhD, presented her vision for NAPPS Imo State Chapter and highlighted:

  • That her administration will strive to bring an end to parents owing fees in one school and moving on to another school, through collaboration amongst schools to foster peace and unity.
  • Unified calendar for operations of NAPPS schools
  • Collaboration with the Ministry of education to achieve the long desired harmonized payment system for all NAPPS schools in our state and say BYE to multiple taxation
  • Ensure Assurance for all our schools through capacity building for both school proprietors and teachers, through Institutionalization, the gap between “Big” and “small” schools will be reduced.
  • Estabish an effective Cooperative Society that will support members with less stress
  • Regular and progressive meetings both physical and virtual, meetings will be fun and very objective.
  • Digitalize NAPPS for Accountability and Transparency.

The Publicity Secretary directed this Agenda with the permission of the Chief Servant of NAPPS Imo.

The house concluded that the newly elected state executives hereby authorise the Chief Servant to form some committees to actualise the year’s mission and it was promptly effected as follows;

Pastor Chris Ineh, the immediate past National Council Member representing South East addressed the house and appreciated all for their positive participation.
He encouraged the house to support the Executives financially. The house welcomed the suggestion gladly and responded to the call for free will donations to encourage and show support to the new executive.

You may recall that the erstwhile Chairman refused to conduct elections into the executive bodies of both the state and local governments following the expiration of their respective tenures and the Board Of Trustees of the National Association stepped in to exercise their constitutional powers upon which the interests of the general membership was restored.

The legal suit filed by the concerned elders and critical stakeholders in the state against the former chairman to recover all the Association’s belongings and accounts of stewardship would be heard by the State High Court on the 7th of February, 2024.
