as Minister and Commandant Charge Youths to emulate rudiments of good leadership

The Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Engr. Olawande Ayodele, and the Commandant of the National Defence College, Rear Admiral Olumuyinwa Morakinyo, have inaugurated a national committee saddled with the responsibilities of organizing the Strategic Youth Leadership Conference. The inaugurated committee has its members drawn from National Defence College, Federal Ministry of Youth Development, and Youth groups.
Speaking during the event held at NDC Nigeria Conference Hall in Abuja, on thursday, the Commandant thanked the Ministry of Youth for the collaboration, which he said is aimed at educating the youths on the rudiments of good leadership. According to him, a well trained youth will make a good leader. In his words; “Nigerian youths are great assets to this nation. However, if we don’t harness these assets and give them proper direction, they will turn to disaster.”
The commandant called on youths to make use of the opportunity, which this conference will provide, to improve their strategic leadership knowledge and prowess. He urged the youths to support the government at all levels, in line with the policies of the federal government.
He charged the members of the committee to remain focused and determined in the course of executing their tasks, having been carefully chosen based on good track records.
In his remarks, the Hon. Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Engr. Ayodele Olawande thanked the NDC, under the leadership of Rear Admiral OM Olotu, for this strategic partnership and for providing a platform to achieve this all-important conference. He hinted that the conference will provide avenue for social interactions that will fertilize ideas among the youths of Nigeria. In his words; “the Federal Ministry of Youth Development is poised to provide several opportunities for the Nigerian youths to showcase their prowess and thrive in all ramifications. This conference is geared towards inculcating leadership prowess in our youths and prepare them for leadership. The youths are the leaders of today and must be prepared to lead. ”
The members of the inaugurated committee are: Commordore SO Obadina (Rtd) – Chairman, Dr Emmanuel Unakpor, Hon. Felix Tolorunju Idowu, Comrade Rikki Nwajiofor, Amb. Keyinde Charity Awujuola, MB kusharki, Promise Nwadigos, Chizzy Juliet Mbamara, Dr. Obinna Ebirim, Ohize Hidayat, and Onuigbo Emeka (Secretary).
