For whatever reason, authorities of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (formerly Anambra State University) are trying to force final-year students of the College of Medicine, Faculty of Clinical Medicine, to secretly resume school.

The students were told that the medical students hostel will be closed, hence they’d have to find themselves temporary accommodation outside town as they prepare for their mock and final exams.

This move violates the instructions of both the state and federal government on closure of schools in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Of more importance, how do the authorities expect students living outside Anambra to make it to Awka considering the interstate lockdown?

And the ones who’d rather fly but can’t transform into witches and wizards overnight, how will they navigate the shutdown of the nation’s airspace?

Can the VC, Prof Greg Nwakoby and the Dean College of Medicine, Prof Emeka Ojiyi, kindly explain what the hurry is all about?
