Mayor of Umunneochi hosts physical challenged persons, donates gift items

The Transition Council Chairman and Mayor of Umunneochi Local Govt Area of Abia State, Mr Ndubuisi Ike recently hosted persons with disability at the council headquarters in Isuochi.

Mr Ndubuisi Ike during the interactive meeting emphasized on the need to empower physically challenged individuals to make them self reliant and independent members of the community who can take care of themselves and deliver their responsibilities to the government.

He reiterated the need for physically challenged persons to live up to their full potentials and develop beyond Umunneochi and Abia State.

The Methodist Bishop of Nneochi Diocese, Rt Rev Tasie, reading from the scriptures advised people with disability to be strong and rise up to become somebody in life.

The resource person at the event, Mr Dean Onyebueke noted that persons with disability are talented, skilled and capable and must desist from street begging. He insisted that disability does not define personality.

Cash and gift items were distributed to people present during the event
