The Wokkos Development Association Abuja chapter has launched a proposed multi-purpose hall. The hall which will gulp about N40 million naira will serve as an event center for indigenes of Wokkos district resident in Abuja.
Some personalities who graced the event include the Labour party governorship aspirant in Plateau state, Dr Patrick Daku, Labour party chieftain, Mr Simon Gotom, traditional rulers and many others.
There was also a display of the rich cultural dances of the Wokkos district.
Speaking at the event, Dr Patrick Dakum who was the chairman of the occasion, welcomed the traditional ruler of Wokkos District, the Galadima and his entourage.
He thanked them for leading the charge in uniting the people by attending the event. He further said that their presence at the occassion will encourage the people from Wokkos who are residing in Abuja.
Dakum reminded the gathering of a similar occasion at Wokkos, where he donated over 50 solar powered street lights and paid the school fees of an indigent student at the College of Health, Pankshin.
Dakum was confered with the citizenship of Wokkos and he instantly became a member of the Abuja chapter of the association.
He donated the sum of N100,000 cash and promised to support the building project with the sum of N50,000 every month from commencement until completion.
The renowned mediacl doctor pledged to continue to identify with the people of Wokkos, Ngas nation and Plateau State in general.
He solicited for the votes of Wokkos indigenes and the entire Ngas nation in the 2023 gubertorial election which he is a candidate on the platform of Labour Party.
Dakum promised to serve with the fear of God, humility and utilise the resources of the people for good and to the best of his ability when he is elected as the governor of Plateau State.
