Unconfirmed reports stated the victims were killed by notorious bandits’ leader, Bello Turji, after their families paid the ransom he demanded.

Crisis and conflict journalist, Bakatsine, who confirmed the sad incident on Friday, January 10, 2024, said the victims were held captive for four weeks before this tragic outcome.

“On Friday, the news broke that the kidnappers had killed them, leaving their families and community in deep sorrow,” he said.

“Usama was a nursing graduate who had just finished his studies. He was on his way home to start a new chapter in his life when he and Babangida were kidnapped on Sokoto-Isa road.

“Both men were from Isa Local Government Area in Sokoto State.

“This painful event show the growing problem of insecurity in the Northwest region of Nigeria

“Families are left devastated as kidnappers continue to carry out these cruel acts.

“The government must take action to improve security and protect innocent people. No family should have to go through this kind of pain and loss.”
