The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Adamu, has formally resigned from the Senate.

Also, his deputy, Senator Abubakar Kyari representing Borno North resigned from the Upper Chamber.

Adamu and Kyari tendered their resignation in separate letters read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan on the floor on Tuesday.

They said their action became necessary following their emergence as National Chairman and Deputy National Chairman (North) of the APC respectively.
