If the 9th National Assembly were to be for the people of Nigeria, if they are indeed representing the interest of their constituencies, and if they are indeed patriotic Nigerians, then they will do the needful, reconvene and tackle the issue of insecurity in Nigeria.
The Nigerian people are being slaughtered across the country by the minutes.
The invasion of Nigeria Defence Academy by these extremists has exposed the fact that we are all unsafe in Nigeria.
For the members of National Assembly to still remain in recess while the country is experiencing ethnic cleansing and religious extremism clearly identifies them as colossal failures, and not Representatives of citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
We, the Indigenous People of Nigeria (IPN), hereby demand that the National Assembly, the Senate and Federal House of Representatives to immediately convene an emergency session to deliberate on the issues as currently being experienced in Nigeria.
This is an emergency situation, therefore IPN leadership is calling on the attention of the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan, and the Speaker of the House, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, to urgently summon the President of the country, Muhammad Buhari, to the National Assembly for the emergency sitting.
This is urgent and expedient.
THE BLOOD LETTING MUST STOP!!
Signed:
Mazi Nnamdi Iroegbu
Convener, Indigenous People of Nigeria (IPN)
